COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. " Infineon Technologies Inc. has licensed the Teaklite DSP core from ParthusCeva Inc. for use in its S-GOLDlite, a wireless baseband controller IC used in GSM and GPRS networks.
Infineon is an existing user of the Oak DSP core, another core designed originally by DSP Group, which is now managed by ParthusCeva.
In the new S-GOLDlite, Infineon has combined the 16-bit fixed-point Teaklite core with an ARM926 RISC controller, providing multimedia capability and full GPRS Class-12 support.
Infineon said it plans more controller products for the Edge telecommunications market. Those products will use licensed DSP cores from ParthusCeva, the company added.
