Milpitas, CA - January 26, 2004 - Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LT6553, a triple video amplifier with internally fixed gain of 2. Eliminating the need for external gain setting resistors, the LT6553 features a -3dB bandwidth of 650MHz. The fast slew rate of 2500V/us coupled with a quick 6ns settling time enhances the AC performance, resulting in sharper video images. The 0.01 degree differential phase and 0.01% differential gain provide excellent linearity thus maintaining signal integrity. In addition, the LT6553 has a 0.1dB gain flatness that extends to 150MHz, facilitating use over a wide range of video signals.
"Designed to surpass the demands of high performance video applications, the LT6553 exceeds the resolution specification of 1600 x 1200 pixels," according to applications manager Tim Regan. "The LT6553 is ideal for use in SXGA and UXGA LCD projectors and monitors, digital presenters, scanners, automotive display systems such as in-car navigation or in-car video systems, digital cameras and CCD imaging systems."
The LT6553 incorporates an enable/disable function for easy multiplexing and signal routing. Each amplifier draws only 8mA and when disabled the supply current is reduced to 22uA. Furthermore, the amplifiers are capable of turning on in less than 50ns, making them ideal for spread spectrum and portable applications.
The LT6553 is capable of operation on dual or single supplies from 4.5V to 12V total. Offered in the space saving 16-pin SSOP package, the LT6553 is fully specified for operation over the industrial and commercial temperature ranges. Pricing starts at $2.50 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
