Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, Pa.) has acquired the Aeroflex Pearl River Thin Film Interconnect operations, previously known as MIC Technology, from Aeroflex for $8.8 million.
The Aeroflex Pearl River subsidiary designs, develops and manufactures specialty single- and multiple-substrate thin film products for aerospace, defense, and broadband communications applications. Recognized as an industry leader in thin film technology, the company had sales of $11 million in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2004.
"Our strategic acquisition of Aeroflex Pearl River will further enhance our market position and will complement our existing capabilities in the area of single- and multiple-substrate thin film technology, said Ziv Shoshani, Executive Vice President of Resistors and Inductors for Vishay, in a statement.
Vishay's other thin-film operations include Vishay Electro-Films, which operates a new manufacturing facility in Warwick, R.I.
