Expanding its footprint in Asia's electronics market, Converge today announced the opening of its first Japanese office, located in Tokyo.
The new office, known as Converge Japan, is in addition to six support centers and eight logistics centers in Asia, and a trading hub in Singapore. The location was chosen to provide better local support, quality assurance, and speed to meet the needs of Japanese and Asia-based customers.
Converge (Peabody, Mass.), one of the leading independent distributors of electronic components, has spent the past few years broadening its global presence, opening sites throughout Europe, China and the United States. According to a spokesman, the Tokyo office is the third international office to open since December for the company, including offices in Germany and Israel.
Converge Japan will be headed by Motoaki Maishi, branch manager. The office is integrated with Converge's global technology infrastructure in order to provide customers with access to timely information on products in the open market, including up-to-the-minute pricing and availability.
