Seeking to expand its market share in Europe, Hitachi Display Products Group has added MSC to its distribution network in France.
MSC, a longtime Hitachi Display distributor in other European markets, joins Arrow and Axess Technology supporting Hitachi's small and medium-sized LCD display products. Hitachi Display, a unit of Hitachi Europe Ltd., said it decided to fortify its French distribution network to back up its plans for growth.
"With our expanding product line-up and aggressive growth plans, the time was right to appoint a third distributor," said Mark Stanley, sales and marketing manager for Hitachi Europe. "MSC has an excellent track record in many European markets with Hitachi displays, backed up by first rate technical knowledge and design-in support capabilities. We are sure that this new appointment will be hugely beneficial for our customers in France."
In the fourth quarter of 2006, Japan-based Hitachi ranked no. 6 in the world among makers of small and medium-sized displays, with $342 million in revenue, according to DisplaySearch (Austin, Texas). This represented a 136 percent jump from the same quarter of 2005.
