WAYNE, N.J. Boston University has formed a Senor Network Consortium with the hope of facilitating interaction between academia and industry companies involved in the development of sensor networking technologies.
According to the university, the new consortium will relay on federal and state funding and will foster joint projects in sensor networking technology areas. The group will also look to move research from university labs to the industry and facilitate the development of graduates with experience in sensor networking.
In addition to Boston University, the consortium will include P, Honeywell, Inetco Systems Ltd., Invensys, L-3 Communications, Millennial Net, Radianse, Sensicast Systems, and Textron Systems. On the university side, Harvard University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst are involved in the consortium.
