SiGe Semiconductor, a supplier of RF front-end ICs for wireless systems, has raised $19.5 million in an expansion round of financing.
The investment will fund new product development and the growth of operations in support of the company's expanding global customer base.
TD Capital, Prism Venture Partners, VenGrowth Private Equity Partners and 3i Technology Partners led the round, joined by previous investors including Hunt Ventures, RWI Group, GrowthWorks, and Vista Ventures.
The Ottawa, Canada-based company's RF front-end modules are integrated into Bluetooth-enabled portable devices, GPS and telematics systems, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi devices, and WiMAX broadband access equipment.
