At the same time, Station Casinos, Inc., a gaming corporations in the U.S., is delivering the ultimate in-room communications experience for guests at its new Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa through converged IP solutions from Nortel and its channel partner Sprint. Guests of the newly opened, billion dollar resort in Las Vegas have access to personalized, on-demand services using color touch screens of Nortel IP phones located in each room. Nortel converged communications solutions deliver advanced IP telephony and multimedia applications to in-room Nortel touch screen phones to let Red Rock guests take full advantage of the resort's fine dining, gaming and entertainment services.
Finally, Golden Telecom, a leading Russia-based service provider, is using wireless mesh network technology from Nortel to build Moscow's first wireless mesh network. Golden Telecom provides integrated communications and Internet service to major cities throughout Russia and countries within the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The mesh network, consisting of 5,000 Nortel WiFi access points, expands Golden Telecom's broadband communication services to include universal indoor and outdoor wireless access to approximately 3.9 million households in Moscow. Golden Telecom plans to offer wireless broadband services that will be competitively priced and offer higher speed services than many other Internet access services currently available.
