SAN FRANCISCOProgrammable logic startup Tabula Inc. Monday (April 26) named 35-year semiconductor industry veteran Steve Haynes to the position of vice president of sales.
Haynes has served as a consultant to Tabula for two years, according to the company. Prior to that, Haynes spent 18 years at market-leading programmable logic vendor Xilinx Inc., holding the position of vice president of worldwide sales from 1998 to 2005, according to Tabula (Santa Clara, Calif.). During his tenure at Xilinx, Haynes also served as director of sales for the Eastern U.S. and vice president of North American sales, Tabula said.
Prior to working at Xilinx, Haynes served in sales and marketing capacities at National Semiconductor and Silicon Systems, Tabula said.
Tabula emerged from stealth mode last month to offer details about its architecture, which the company says will enable a new class of devices, 3PLDs, that offer the capability of an ASIC, ease of use of an FPGA and price points suitable for volume production. Two weeks later the company launched its first products, the ABAX family of chips, which are set to sample in third quarter and go into mass production in the fourth quarter.
