There's an interesting forum post
this week from a reader who wonders where all the jobs needing business skills and tech expertise really are as he isn't getting far in his job search.
And that got me wondering the same thing too given the continual wave of reports and trend alerts and news stories about how IT professionals just can't be techies any more—that companies expect and want business skills as part of the package when hiring. It seems a week doesn't go by without some expert advising IT staff to get a few business courses under their belt or to spend time with internal business leaders.
And then that got me thinking that maybe all the pundits so called 'industry analysts' are full of plastic peanuts. And that then led to this week's editorial question:
Do you believe any, or all, of the reported trends and outlook reports when it comes to the IT industry and those forecasting the job outlook? Is there one you do put stock in, are there some you don't even consider?
I'd love your feedback for a current article I'm working on so write in
and let me know.
