LONDON Ericsson has bought, for an undisclosed sum, privately held Finnish group Distocraft Oy. The company, with 42 employees, specializes in software development for managing 3G network performance management.
Operators are increasingly looking for their network infrastructure suppliers ,like Ericsson, to offer complete packages, including features such as service management to reduce cots, increase efficiency and speed time-to-market.
The acquisition expands the Swedish group’s OSS offering, addressing emerging technologies such as High-Speed Packet Access, (HSDPA), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and 3G LTE (3G Long-Term Evolution).
Distocraft is based in Lahti and Helsinki, Finland, and its operations are concentrated in the Nordic and Baltic region.
