LONDON Parker Hannifin Corp., which owns Chomerics in Europe, has bought, for an undisclosed sum, French electromagnetic interference shielding and thermal management device specialist Acofab SAS and its majority shareholder Adecem SARL.
Located in Saint-Ouen l'Aumone (Val d'Oise), outside Paris, Acofab employs 64 people developing and manufacturing EMI shielding gaskets and accessories, thermal management and dielectric materials and HF absorbers. It supplies mainly the communications, military and consumer electronics sectors.
The businesses being acquired had sales for the year ended December 2005 of approximately $12.9 million, and Parker said the deal is expected to be accretive in the first full year.
Acofab will be integrated into the Chomerics division of Parker (Cleveland, U.S.) a unit of the conglomerate's Seal Group. Chomerics Europe is headquartered in Marlow, England, and sells throughout Europe through a network of distributors and direct sales groups.
