MUNICH, Germany Effective June 1, Monika Kircher-Kohl will follow Reinhard Ploss as the new CEO for Infineon Austria. Ploss has recently been named General Manager for Infineon's newly-created manufacturing and logistics business unit and member of the board.
Kircher-Kohl served as the company's CFO since 2001. In her new role as CEO, she will keep the responsibilities for finances, production, HR and IT. Former deputy board member Reinhard Petschacher will complement the board as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the company informed. In this position, he will oversee among other topics R&D for Infineon's important Automotive, Industrial and Multimarket business segment including reliability research and test activities for the company's automotive chips. In addition, the Austrian subsidiary is responsible for Infineon's global power semiconductor activities.
With a headcount of 2750 persons including 900 in R&D, Infineon Austria achieved sales of 1.1 billion (about $1.47 billion) in FY 2006.
