LONDON Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) manufacturer Memscap SA (Bernin, France) made a considerably reduced net loss of 948,000 euros (about $1.3 million) on sales revenue of 7.3 million euro (about $10.0 million) for the half-year to June 30, 2007.
The net loss had contracted from 5.9 million euro (about $8.0 million) made in the first half of 2006 on revenues of 6.9 million euro (about $9.4 million). Memscap said it had achieved revenue growth in dollars of 20 percent over one year and double revenue over two years.
The company said its backlog of orders is now at the highest level it had been for five years.
No indication was given of the outlook for the next quarter or half-year, or when Memscap would move into profitable operation.
