Lorlin Electronics announces a new model in its highly successful DSL high security mains lock switch range. The new model offers a non-latching spring-return action intended for safety and security applications or where control by authorised users only is essential. The spring-return action is particularly useful for control or reset functions of electronic or electrical equipment or machinery that must not be left unattended during operation.
Manufactured at Lorlin‚s own factory in the UK the DSL-SR lock switch is a rugged design, simple to mount and RoHS compliant and is mounted to the panel from the front. The high security key is a dimpled design, which operates a 6-pin lock with a 90° movement and the key may be inserted into the lock either way up.
Over 15,000 key combinations are available with options of all different keys or common "pass" keys for applications requiring single key control of multiple secure systems by supervisors or service engineers.
The DSL-SR lock switch is rated at 115VAC/5A and 30VDC/3A over an operating life of >10,000 cycles. The 2 pole change over micro-switch has an operating temperature range of ˆ25 to +85°C and is flame retardant to UL94 V0. Connection is made via plated brass solder terminals. The lock housing is brass and may be supplied bright chrome or nickel-plated with a parallel-sided lock head.
Dan Walker, Sales manager at Lorlin Electronics comments, "Our new DSL spring return lock switch is an important new product for designers and manufacturers of equipment which requires controlled access and safe operation. Secure access to safety shutters, medical equipment, alarms and monitoring systems has become a major factor in system design to prevent tampering, unauthorised access or use and safe operation. The DSL-SR lock switch offers a high security key mechanism combined with a rugged, reliable electrical switch and the safety factor of operation only when attended by a user."
Typical applications for the Lorlin DSL mains lock switch include, security shutters, medical equipment, secure IT installations, alarm and security control panels in airports, prisons, police stations etc, factory equipment, instrumentation and electrical control panels. The new DSL-SR key switch is available direct from Lorlin or from franchised distributors worldwide.
