LONDON Embedded antenna specialist Ethertronics Inc. (San Diego, Calif.) has bought, for an undisclosed sum, a design centre owned by Flextronics in Kalmar , Sweden.
As part of the transaction, Ethertronics acquired the facility's lab and design center as well as approximately 10 engineers. The company says the acquisition gives it access to existing engineering talent and paves the way for a seamless transition, as many of the existing customers and their respective projects are migrating over to Ethertronics.
The company and group is being renamed Ethertronics Sweden AB.
"This acquisition is a natural fit for our global expansion plans and further cements Ethertronics’ presence in the world's primary technology centers throughout Asia, the U.S., and Europe,"said Jeffrey Crosby, president and chief executive officer of Ethertronics.
Ethertronics specializes in the development, manufacture and integration of ceramic antennas and customized stamped-metal embedded antennas for wideband and multi-band wireless devices.
