PARIS Two months after top executive changes, Alcatel-Lucent announced that Hubert de Pesquidoux, chief financial officer and president of Enterprise business, has decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities. Paul Tufano, an executive in international finance, will succeed him as of December 1st, 2008.
Hubert de Pesquidoux joined Alcatel in 1991 as corporate treasurer. He became CEO of Alcatel Canada in 2000 and COO of Alcatel North America from Dec. 2002 to April 2006. He then served as Alcatel’s executive vice president, president of Alcatel North America, and member of the Alcatel executive committee.
His successor, Paul Tufano, served as executive vice president and CFO of Solectron Corp. from January 2006 to October 2007 and as interim CEO from February 2007 to October 2007. Previously, he was president and CEO at Maxtor Corp. from February 2003 to November 2004. He also served as executive vice president and COO from April 2001 and as CFO from July 1996 at Maxtor Corp.
In September, Alcatel-Lucent notified that Ben Verwaayen, who left BT group earlier this year from a similar role, would take over as CEO of the communications infrastructure group, and that Philippe Camus, a former key executive at plane maker Airbus's parent EADS, would become non- executive chairman.
