LONDON French mobile device developer ModeLabs Group has become the latest in the wireless sector to take a license for some of InterDigital's patents related to 2G and 3G cellular technologies.
The agreement covers the sale of wireless terminal units and infrastructure designed round some of the cellular standards and/or the non-cellular wireless IEEE 802-based standards held by InterDigital (King of Prussia, Pa.), for the duration of the life of the licensed patents.
ModeLabs Group (Paris, France) is a customized design manufacturer (CDM) that focuses on mobile phones, accessories, and services for operators, retailers and major brands.
"This new agreement with one of Europe's most creative mobile device companies expands InterDigital's licensing coverage in Europe and allows us to participate in a growing and innovative segment of the market," said Lawrence Shay, President of InterDigital’s patent subsidiaries, in a statement.
