LONDON Russia's JSC Sitronics group, which includes companies manufacturing communications gear, microelectronics components and systems and IT products, has established a subsidiary in India.
Sitronics India (New Delhi) will be led by Timur Vekilov, who was Chief Technical Officer at Sitronics Information Technologies.
The group started to operate in the Indian market in May 2008, and has had a permanent presence in India since November 2008.
Initially, the subsidiary will focus on supplying equipment and handling projects in the communications sector, the transport industry, and State institutions.
Sergey Aslanian, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sitronics said in a statement: "The establishment of subsidiary in India is in line with our stated goal to expand our presence in rapidly developing markets."
The main telecommunication operations are based in Prague, Czech Republic and Athens, Greece, while the IT Solutions and Microelectronic Solutions divisions are based in Kiev, Ukraine and Zelenograd, Russia respectively.
The group owns Mikron, which is building a 65-nm chip production line at its plant in Zelenograd.
Sitronics already operates in more than 60 countries. The group has over 11,000 employees of whom approximately 4,500 are involved in research and development.
