LONDON Andy Brannan, a former VP at Finnish phone maker Nokia, has been appointed chief commercial officer at mixed-signal chip specalist Wolfson Microelectronics plc (Edinburgh, Scotland).
He will lead sales and product marketing at Wolfson.
Brannan was most recently VP of Nokia's SOSCO business, which Nokia owned through its acquisition lastt year of Symbian Ltd.
He spent over eight years at Symbian Software Ltd, where he was Executive Vice President of sales and customer operations and a board member. As such, he was responsible for Symbian’s global relationships with mobile device manufacturers and network operators.
Commenting on the appointment, Mike Hickey, Chief Executive Officer of Wolfson, said: "His breadth of experience and contacts in the industry will prove extremely valuable… He will play an integral role in expanding our market share across all our product lines. This is an exciting time for Wolfson and I look forward to working with Andy to drive the business forward."
