PARIS Target Compiler Technologies NV (Leuven, Belgium) announced it has concluded a distribution agreement with Seoul-based Acetronix to provide sales and marketing support for its IP Designer and IP Programmer EDA tools throughout Korea.
Target Compiler said the agreement is in line with its strategy to establish local representations in regions with a host of semiconductor design centers active in the development of advanced SoCs.
"The technology of Target to design, optimize, verify, integrate and program ASIP cores is very interesting for leading chip manufacturers and fabless semiconductor vendors in Korea," stated Sung Ho (Shane) Rhee, CEO of Acetronix.
He continued: "We see a growing number of companies in Korea that design advanced SoCs with stringent performance, power consumption and cost requirements, and are interested in the flexibility offered by ASIPs,"
Target initiated a presence in Korean when it announced in 2008 that Korea's Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) had adopted its IP Designer tool suite for the design and programming of next-generation digital signal processors for mobile multi-media applications.
