PARIS AWR Corp. announced that Dane Collins, the company's chief executive officer, has been elected to the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC) board of directors.
The EDA Consortium represents approximately 100 companies in the $5.5 billion Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry.
In a written statement prior to the election, Collins highlighted: "EDAC's Export Group has had great success with its lobbying efforts related to export controls and I would like to see this type of effort applied to piracy also."
He continued: "Another area in which I would like to see EDAC become involved is working to define cloud computing licensing and pricing models. Having common practices in this new area of computing will speed customer adoption and prevent duplication of effort by member companies."
And, expressing his motivation, Collins declared: "If elected, I will make it a priority to bring together the members of our industry in a spirit of cooperation so as to work towards finding solutions and strategies to address the common problems facing us and our customers throughout the EDA marketplace."
