LONDON Peter Claydon, co-founder and former chief operating officer of PicoChip Design Ltd. (Bath, England), has joined Deltenna Ltd. (Chippenham, England), a developer of wireless communications systems, according to a report in the Silicon South West newsletter.
Claydon left PicoChip towards the end of 2009 and has been working as a consultant since then.
Deltenna was founded in 2002 by a former PicoChip design engineer Andrew Fox, who leads the company as CEO. Deltenna designs and manufactures wireless infrastructure and access points. The company has developed a variety of products for GSM, WCDMA, WiMax and WiFi. The WiBE 3G router provides a WiFi access point with backhaul using 3G, has undergone commercial trials with lead customers and is due to be launched in June 2010.
"I started doing some consultancy for Deltenna looking at strategy and started to get really excited about the products," the newsletter quoted Claydon, as saying.
