LONDON – EDA tools vendor Mentor Graphics Corp. has announced that it
has filed a patent infringement suit against French emulation tools
vendor EVE SA in a federal court in Oregon.
The move follows efforts by Mentor to prevent Paris-based EVE selling its products in Japan (see EVE plans vigorous defense against Mentor claim).
In its latest
suit Mentor alleges that EVE products infringe on United States Patent
No. 6,876,962 issued April 5, 2005, and said it is seeking damages and
to bar the manufacture and sale of EVE's products in the United States.

corporate intellectual property counsel for Mentor Graphics.
A Mentor spokesman declined to comment on the company's legal strategy.
