SAN JOSE, Calif. - NOR flash supplier Spansion Inc. has named Saied Tehrani as senior vice president of research and development.
Tehrani will be responsible for Spansion's technology and new product development.
He joins Spansion from Everspin Technologies Inc., a supplier of MRAMs, where he was founder and chief operating officer.
Spansion also rolled out its new FL-K serial peripheral interface (SPI) flash memory product line (S25FL-K) with small-sector architecture. The Spansion FL-K family provides support for designs requiring uniform 4-kilobyte (KB) small sectors. The complete Spansion SPI product portfolio now spans densities from 4- through 256-Mbit.
The new FL-K family is ramping production with product shipping today. The 16-Mbit device, which has the highest demand, is in full production and available in 8-pin SO package (208 mils lead pitch) and a narrow-body 8-pin SO package (150 mils lead pitch). The 32- and 64-Mbit devices are available in the 8-pin SO package (208 mils lead pitch). The 4 Mb and 8 Mb devices will be available in both 8-pin packages in December of 2010.
