PARIS – Vector Software, Inc. announced that FlightFocus Pte Ltd has deployed its VectorCAST/C++ and VectorCAST/Cover tools to achieve DO-178B certification in a short amount of time.
Flight Focus said it has selected Vector Software’s VectorCAST/C++ for unit and integration testing tools as well as the VectorCAST/Cover system test code coverage tool. Vector Software’s VectorCAST solution was proven to integrate seamlessly with the Flight Focus CodeWarrior for Power Architecture and the P2020 double core board software development environment; both in a bare board and firmware mode.
VectorCAST/Cover is used to gauge the effectiveness of the test efforts by identifying which areas of an application were exercised during a test run. VectorCAST/Cover analyzes any portion of the application, or the entire application at once.
VectorCAST/C++ is an integrated software test solution that is claimed to significantly reduce the time, effort, and cost associated with testing C/C++ software components necessary for validating safety- and mission-critical embedded systems.
VectorCAST/C++ parses the source code and invokes code generators to automatically create the test code (stubs and drivers) required to construct a complete, executable test harness. Once the test harness is constructed, utilities can be used to build and execute test cases, show code covered, and report static measurements. Test data is maintained separately from the test harness, enabling easy automatic regression testing.
What is this news is trying to say? Is that the FlightFocus Pte Ltd has used VectorCAST/C++ as the unit testing and integration tool and achieved DO-178B C/D coverage requirement in a short amount of time? I am not sure if I have understood the significance of the information provided in this article.
