BANGALORE, India—Analog and mixed-signal IP core provider Cosmic Circuits Pvt. Ltd. will develop foundation analog IP for Globalfoundries Inc. at the 55-, 40- and 28-nm nodes, the company said Thursday (Dec. 16).
Cosmic (Bangalore) will develop system-clocking phase locked loops (PLLs) for the GlobalFoundries 55 LPe, 40 LP and 28 HPP process technologies, and offer system-on-chip designers a range of analog and digital PLLs to choose from, including PLLs supporting input frequencies down to 32kHz without the need for any external components and PLLs that occupies extremely low core area, and spread-spectrum PLLs for EMI suppression, the company said.
Dave Steer, director, IP business development at Globalfoundries, said Cosmic has been enabling customers using its 65LPe process with solutions in audio, data converters and power management. “They [Cosmic] were a logical choice for foundation analog IP development in these advanced technologies as they had been enabling customers in our process technology,” Steer said.
“We have a number of PLLs available for system clocking needs in the older process nodes, and with this development, we will be able to offer our customers with a portfolio of PLL solutions to choose from," said Sundararajan Krishnan, director of IP development at Cosmic.
