@Dylan McGrath: thanks for the summary, is there more coming? Seems like what you listed above is hardly exciting (I have to concur with @Aaron.Netsell here!) and novel. I was expecting to see much more in consumer gadgets that use newer technologies (like thin film electronics, thin film solar, printed batteries/electronics, etc.) Are you hiding the good stuff for a later date? In another week, we (at Silicon Valley) will have a detailed trip report at one of the IEEE events. I can post my summary on EE Times. Dr. MP Divakar

I don't see any exciting gadget at all. The wind up tool is kind of "old school" stuff so I don't know what is interesting. I'm a bit disappointed.

Hmmm...wind up flashlights and radios? Been out for 3-4 years or more. A car stereo interface for the iPOD? Hardly novel. And then there's the wireless video bridge "design kit". How is that even considered Consumer Electronics? Maybe change the article title to "CES gadgets we've seen before". Surely there's more interesting stuff at CES than this....(pleeeease?)

Perhaps the article just needs a more adequate title, most of the REALLY interesting stuff usually get it's own story.

I would like to have more details with each of the highlighted products. I am wondering if these represent the best and most innovative offerings at CES? I was well to be frank underwhelmed. Is this an incorrect view of the CES show? I am not normally able to attend CES and wondered if it was worth it...

I actually feel sorry for those people to go there. So far, i haven't seen anything creative from CES show yet. People are just busy copying what Apple released last year. I don't like Apple as company due to its big and arrogant. But it seems it is only creative company in consumer industry. Other companies are competing who could copy Apple product faster.

Windup torches are available in any DIY store, camping shop, petrol (gas) station; windup radios are hardly new. Am I missing something?

Same feeling but one of my friend who visited quoted it as "boring" not sure why. pretty good displays I guess even though I didnot get chance to visit.

Its so unfair that i am personally not able to visit CES but colleagues could. Thanks to you @Dylan and @Yunko we could see sneak previews of future products I am no sure how etón popped up there but here in EU we have lots of similar gadgets even more fancy looking ones. However to be honest i am impressed with Ox.Audio. wondering when itd be avaiable around.
