Cypress clock solutions definitely have a good portifolio such as clock buffers, spread spectrum clock oscillators. Good acqusition by silicon labs but we need to wait and see how well does silicon labs manages so many different types of products.

What is the key to the success of silicon clock? I don't know why silicon is so important as compare to traditional crystal base clock and why are so many companies are developing silicon clock.

Silicon Labs has great Comm IC and 8051 micros. Unfortunately ARM Cortex micros are expanding rapidly and becoming cheaper than Silabs' 8051.
