The products look like a nice step forward for Maxim. I wonder if XOOM considered using the single chip (10 touch capable) Maxim capacitive touch-screen controllers? This might have been a better selection rather than the 4 chip set they used.

I didnt have chance to work on new maxim products however had some experiences with TI ones. Biasing was big pain i hope Maxim really solved that trouble. Furthermore having products with integrated power management and mixed-signal functions and a touch-screen controller on single chip simply marvelous idea. Since mobile era is here, i am sure they will have lots of customers. Should we consider Atmel is also working on such product?

Looks attractive, especially when it said the new part has faster response that the analog counterparts. As far as I know, whenever it comes to use ADC to sample the power supply and apply PID, the speed is surely limited and therefore the best class digital power supply is still falling away from the best class analog power supply. So, if MAXIM can really perform better (hope they are also comparing the best class analog competition), it surely is a good news to the market. However, 5x bias current may be a problem.

I tested few of the Maxim IC products.Their IC's are well made and gives results as per their specification or better. Entering into digital power market will increase the market share of them.We can see new innovative IC's from Maxim semiconductors

This is good work. If this can reduce the amount of power used by all of my devices, I can save some money on my energy bill. I like to see us moving to greener solutions as we move forward.

If these perform as well as we are used to seeing in the analog world, this will be a welcome addition to the industry and to their lineup.
