SAN JOSE, Calif. - Japan's JSR Corp. has announced that the company has named the first non-Japanese officer to its ''officers committee.''
Eric Johnson, the current president of the company’s U.S. operations, JSR Micro Inc., has been named as an officer effective June 17, marking a milestone for the 50-year-old company.
Johnson joined JSR Micro in 2001 as a senior vice president and was named president in 2005. As an officer, Johnson will continue in his role as president of JSR Micro, but will also be involved in strategic planning and the strategic review process for JSR Corp.
David Patterson, known for his pioneering research that led to RAID, clusters and more, is part of a team at UC Berkeley that recently made its RISC-V processor architecture an open source hardware offering.
