ANAHEIM, Calif.—STMicroelectronics NV is closing one of its semiconductor R&D groups in Longmont, Colo., and laying off 44 people, according to a report by a Colorado newspaper.
ST (Geneva) notified the Colorado Dept. of Labor and Employment of its layoff plans in a filing last month, according to the Daily Camera, a newspaper based in Boulder, Colo.
The layoffs are expected to begin after Oct. 7 and will be completed over a six-month period, according to the report.
Following the completion of the layoffs, ST will have 27 employees at its Longmont facility, according to the report.
