SANTA CLARA, Calif.—Freescale Semiconductor Inc. and Green Hills Software Inc. Wednesday (Oct. 26) announced a new alliance to expand the roll of system virtualization technology in ARM-based embedded and mobile applications.
Freescale (Austin, Texas) and Green Hills (Santa Barbara, Calif.) said the initiative is intended to enable intelligent and dynamic use models, reduce device development and production costs and improve reliability, safety and security.
The companies said they would demonstrate Green Hills Software's Integrity Multivisor on Freescale i.MX application processors at this week's ARM TechCon event.
"Key factors for the selection of the Integrity Multivisor include its safety and security pedigree, ability to handle instant-on and hard real-time workloads, and the corporate strength and stability of Green Hills Software," said Bernd Lienhard, vice president and general manager of Freescale's Multimedia Applications division, in a statement.
