"It also raised its quarterly earnings forecast to $1.8 billion from 1.25 billion." Means, HDD makers are more than happy with the situation. I cant see why they should care to increase the supply ASAP.

This will happen eventually when supply exceeds the demand or supply meets the demands. Probably there is a short fall in advancement of technolgy due to these natural diasasters apart from business abnormalities.
