TSV is the technology to watch as more integrated solutions become dearer. But i do not read much on the technology sites about this much.

It may be a bit premature to position TEL as the TSV leader at this stage. Novellus announced nearly 2 years ago that it was working with IBM on TSV deposition. With Lam in the process of acquiring Novellus, they are also positioned to play a key role in this market. Another company to keep an eye on is Alchimer, which - although extremely small compared to TEL and Lam/NVLS - has been doing a lot of innovative work in TSVs. It would be interesting to see what happens with them - can they flourish on their own or do they ultimately get acquired by one of the remaining Goliaths (i.e., AMAT, TEL or Lam)?

With this acquisition probably TEL could lead the market in the TSV technology which will be critical for the future of semiconductor manufacturing.
