It's amazing. TI and Micrium are breathing on the Arduino's back. Even the Friendly ARM board can do the same now.

Network capability is inevitable in today's OS. This is a good move. What's the memory footprint of Micrium uC with TCP/IP stack vs any embedded Linux?

Micrium is well-known for its compact RTOS uC/OS-II operating systems widely used in education and commercial products. This is a great move to partner with TI.
