Seems like a very valid concern if the wire is deployed near an engine with aluminum parts...

The concern about leaking liquid alloy is a valid one; gallium will diffuse into many other metals, structurally weakening them.  Search around for some interesting videos of gallium being used to turn an aluminum soda can into the consistency of a wet paper towel! It's possible that it has a higher affinity for the co-alloy, making this a non-issue, but I haven't a clue if that's the case.

Congrats Michael, pretty amazing...would you be interested in presenting again your research at emerging technologies conference in Vancouver in 2015? preliminary program at www.cmosetr.com, Kris

Awesome. This material could really have a lot of uses!

PS - Did you mean to say it would be discussed at DesignCon "2014" rather than "2013"?

Of all the exhibits in the Pre-Apocalypse Era Museum, Breek was always in awe of the unearthed details and true-to-scale reproduction of a technological creation space that the long gone humans had once inhabited.
