It’s not all fun and games at Design West. It’s not even all technology all the time.
I have spotted two business-y sessions I’d like to sit in on. One will tell engineers how they can make the most out of the new first-to-file rules Congress passed for the U.S. patent system.
I covered quite a lively debate about this patent reform bill. Many observers said first-to-file would only benefit big corporations with lots of resources, so it will be interesting to get another take on it from a Silicon Valley intellectual property specialist in this 2 p.m. session on April 23.
I may also drop in on a session on how to play nice with open source licensing. It’s being given at 9:15 a.m. on April 25 by a senior engineer and a patent counsel from Qualcomm, so I am sure they are up on best practices.
Join our online Radio Show on Friday 11th July starting at 2:00pm Eastern, when EETimes editor of all things fun and interesting, Max Maxfield, and embedded systems expert, Jack Ganssle, will debate as to just what is, and is not, and embedded system.
