"Unlike ARM, Intel has no synthesizeable version of its x86 core, preferring the performance of a fixed core..." - But Intel's Atom core is synthesizable?!? Usually when you get into SoC business, making synthesizable chip is more meaningful as vendor may want to add their own homemade cookies to it. http://sunnyeves.blogspot.com/
