Cool and interesting project? Are these guys trying to replace man by silicon? I understand that they need a justification for their job, but they remind me of the apprentice sorcerers who are trying to create gold in their cauldrons.

The actual programming of the cores should surely be the easy part. Each core probably just simulates a bunch of neuron - a pretty simple element - and all the cores will be running similar - if not identical code. What is really going to be the challenge is setting up the interconnection and run-time data.
