The real advantage of this technology is moving the added information to a secondary device. My deaf sister-in-law lives on her smartphone because of the data communications channel that it provides (cell phone with no voice contract - that often takes a bit of explaining). An app on that phone could adapt to her, rather than forcing manufacturers to adapt to her needs. I see this as an advance for both groups. Larry M.

This is misleading. It's great for Blind. But please take off the "hearing impaired" part. Deaf or Deafblind would not be able to HEAR the speech.

Wow, I never imagined NFC could be used to aid visually challenged people. I am sure this technology will help them a lot to lead normal life. When can we expect such devices in market ?
