Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Wednesday named Richard Heye and Marty Seyer as vice presidents and co-general managers of a new consolidated microprocessor business unit.
The new unit, part of AMD's Computation Products Group, combines the former microprocessor business and product planning, product marketing, brand management, technical marketing, field marketing, partner and infrastructure, and communication support teams.
Heye was formerly vice president of platform infrastructure and engineering, and Seyer was vice president of AMD's server business unit.
In other executive changes, Kazuo Sakai was named group vice president of sales and marketing for the Asia Pacific region, except for China and Korea. Sakai was formerly vice president of sales and marketing for North Asia Pacific and was also president of AMD Japan.
Additionally, Giuliano Meroni was named group vice president of sales and marketing for Europe, Mideast and Africa and worldwide distribution. Meroni was formerly vice president of sales and marketing for Europe.
