Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Tuesday introduced two mobile Athlon XP-M processors, the 2000+ and 1900+, with a performance rating for thin and light notebooks, and an Athlon XP-M 2800+ for the desktop replacement notebook PC market.
All three have 512Kbytes of on-chip L2 cache and are immediately available in mass production. In 1,000 unit quantities, the 2000+ processor is priced at $134 and the 1900+ at $123. The 2800+ version is $230.
Fujitsu PC Corp. is using the Athlon XP-M 1900+ in its LifeBook S2000 notebook. Time Computers of the U.K. is using the Athlon XP-M 2800+ in its Traveller AR series of notebooks.
