SanDisk Corp. and Sony Corp. Tuesday jointly announced an expanded cross licensing agreement to allow SanDisk to manufacture and market additional Memory Stick flash memory media products.
The new pact covers the basic Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick with Memory Select function, and Memory Stick I/O cards. SanDisk will be allowed to make and sell these under its own brand name.
The two companies have had a collaboration agreement on Memory Stick since 2001. The two also jointly developed a Memory Stick PRO high-performance version, which SanDisk obtained the rights to manufacture in January of this year.
