WAYNE, N.J. -- Startup Bermai has extended its runway in the wireless LAN (WLAN) chip market by landing an additional $12 million during its series B funding round.
Founded in 2001, Bermai is building all CMOS radios that combine RF, baseband and MAC functionality in a single package. In May 2002, the company sampled its first product for 802.11a applications. The company is also working on chips for 802.11g, 802.11a/g, and 802.11a/e designs.
During its series B round, Bermai received funding from Advanced Technology Ventures, Blueprint Ventures, Mobius Venture Capital and LG Electronics-backed STIC ventures. To date, the company has raised approximately $34 million.
