MANHASSET, N.Y. AMI Semiconductor, a Pocatello, Idaho, supplier of mixed-signal ICs, has named Tony Liang vice president of sales for the Asia Pacific market. Liang brings the company more than 20 years experience in sales and marketing, with more than 15 years spent working directly with technology companies in the Asia Pacific.
Liang comes to AMIS from Cygnal Integrated Products, where he was the Asian business manager, responsible for doubling the company's overall revenue in a one-year period. He has also held senior management positions with industry-leading sales and marketing teams at PMC-Sierra, EXAR, Acer Counterpoint, and the International Technology Development Corporation.
Liang, who will be based out of Shanghai, China, will be responsible for developing and implementing a business plan to drive AMI Semiconductor's sales in the region. He will cultivate and maintain relationships with customers and work with his team to increase the company's visibility and thought leadership throughout Asia Pacific.
"Through his work with top-tier technology companies, Liang brings with him a wealth of knowledge in sales and marketing to the Asia Pacific region. He will continue to strengthen AMI Semiconductor's position and bring us to the forefront of that market," said Charlie Lesko, senior vice president of sales and marketing for AMI Semiconductor, in a statement.
Liang earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the National Oceanic University in Taiwan and his Master of Science in Telecommunications Management from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
