MIDDLEFIELD, Conn.--Zygo Corp. has received multiple orders for its second-generation AutoMESA disk flatness and sorting metrology tool from customers in the United States, Europe, and Asia. The value of the units ordered approaches $2 million.
Originally introduced in 1998, the second-generation tool introducedthis year provides data storage customers with a 20% increase in cycle time performance and system throughput. At the same time, the redesigned tool has a product footprint less than 40% of the earlier model.
They offer high throughput and nanometer accuracy in measuring the form factor of 95-mm, 84-mm, and 64-mm aluminum and glass disks. The system is designed to handle blanks to polished disks.
