TAIPEI, Taiwan -- ASE Group announced today that Leonard Y. Liu has been appointed president of the large semiconductor assembly and test company based here. In this position he will hold two titles: president of ASE Inc. and CEO of ASE Test Ltd., the company's separate assembly and test operations
Liu will report to Jason Chang, chairman of ASE Group, and will be responsible for directing ASE Group's worldwide business operations and setting strategic directions.
Before joining ASE, Liu was chairman and CEO of Walker Interactive System Inc. and chief operating officer of Cadence Design Systems Inc. He was president of Acer Group Worldwide before he joined Cadence. Liu also served 20 years with IBM Corp., where he held numerous executive positions.
