DALLAS--Texas Instruments Inc. today said it completed a $1.2 billion stock-for-stock acquisition of Unitrode Corp. In the summer, TI announced the acquisition to add power-supply control and battery management products to semiconductor portfolio (see July 26 story).
The Dallas company said it will broaden the range of power-supply control and battery management ICs being offered by Unitrode in new and existing markets. The Unitrode subsidiary will continue to operate from its headquarters in Merrimack, N.H.
