Featuring two Gigabit Ethernet ports and six USB 2.0 connectors, Fastwel has unveiled its CP502, with a 2GHz Pentium M CPU and a 400 MHz system bus, making it, the company claims, the fastest 3U Compact PCI/PXI board available.
With 1MB/2MB of L2 on-die cache running at CPU speed, it incorporates a chipset based on the 82855GME GMCH with Hance Rapid ICH and can handle up to 1GB of PC333 DDR SDRAM. Its VGA controller integrated in 855GME with shared memory support up to 64 MB. Display interfaces support analog resolution up to 2048x1536 pixels on TFT LVDS panels.
Other on-board peripherals include an AC97 2.3 compliant audio codec, standard parallel EIDE Ultra ATA/100 as well as two serial ATA connectors, and for flash memory storage, a CF Type I/II or Microdrive socket. It also allows mezzanine boards to be install on either side of the board.
Incorporating a Phoenix BIOS, it supports Win2000/XP, QNX and Linux operating systems. It is cooled with a passive heat sink, and has a temperature range of -40 deg. C to +85 deg. C (with processor screening). Mean time between failure is calculated at 80,000 hours. Power supply requirements: 5V at 6A and 3.3V at 2A.
